7 Steps To Managing Back Pain

7 Steps To Managing Back Pain Total Balance Chiropractic

It’s estimated that up to 80% of Australians will experience back pain at some stage in their lives. While most recover, for many back pain becomes a daily fact of life that must be managed in order to maintain a healthy quality of life.

This Wednesday night we’ll be hosting a fun and informative workshop where we’ll discuss a number of strategies that can help to improve flexibility and function, and reduce or even prevent the incidence of back pain so you can get on with enjoying life!

So below, in no particular order are the 7 key areas we’ll be covering at the talk:

  • MOVEMENT – In today’s increasingly sedentary world, we’ll be discussing the importance of regular movement and ways to introduce more into your work and home life.
  • DIET – The idea of food as medicine has become increasingly popular, and certainly our diet plays a major role in pain, inflammation and healing. We’ll discuss some foods to avoid and some to include to support health and healing, as well as what role, if any, that supplements can play in effecting how you feel.
  • SITTING – While it’s often avoidable, prolonged sitting is linked to increased rates of back pain as well as many other chronic health issues. So if you need to do it, it’s important to know how to set your seat up to give your body the best support possible.
  • SLEEPING – We spend up to a 3rd of our lives in bed, so it’s important to have the correct mattress and pillow to support you while you’re there. We’ll show you how to get the balance right!
  • SHOES/FOOTWEAR – About ¼ of the bones of the body are in your feet, and they form the foundation for the rest of your body. We’ll show you how what you put on your feet effects your posture and how to pick the shoes that are right for you.
  • STRENGTH & STABILTY – We’ll look at some of the best types of movements and exercises to improve your muscular strength and stability.
  • POSTURE & ALIGNMENT – We’ll discuss the role that posture and alignment play in maintaining proper spinal health and function and how to look after your posture better down the track.

We’re really excited to be able to share this information with people, so if there’s anyone you know who may be interested, please invite them along, or direct them to Facebook, where they can find details on the Event Page. If you’d like to attend yourself, call Nat or Britt on 4969 2886 to reserve your spot, or RSVP on Facebook by clicking “Going” on the Event Page.

Hope to see you there!
